Our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas will take you to all of them in a fun day, full of culture, history and incredible views. You can join us whether you are alone, as a couple or as part of a larger group.
On this exciting day, you will have the opportunity to visit the most important Inca archaeological complexes in the valley and experience the Andean culture reflected in the art pieces, traditional markets, customs and popular traditions in the towns of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. The warm weather throughout the valley perfectly complements the journey to make this tour even more enjoyable.
Don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity to learn more about the fascinating history of the Incas, see beautiful views of the entire valley, and observe small communities and towns going about their daily lives. It is the perfect complement for your vacation in Cusco.
Our adventure for the day begins between 7:30 and 8:00 am, we pick you up at your accommodation in Cusco and depart in our private transport to our first destination of the day.
On the way to Pisac, we will make our first stop of the day, about thirty minutes from Cusco. We will visit the Qorao market, to walk around and see the locals selling their handicrafts. There are handmade souvenirs and some impressive works of art that you can buy as souvenirs of your trip or as gifts for friends and family back home. Here, you will also have the opportunity to take some photos of the incredible landscapes and local wildlife such as llamas.
Next, we will continue to “El Mirador Del Valle Sagrado”. This viewpoint over the valley will give you the perfect opportunity to photograph the Andes mountain range and the Sacred Valley together.
We will soon arrive in Pisac to visit its colorful market and archaeological site. The Pisac complex is known for its terraces that rise from the foot of the mountain to the top in a harmonious way. You will also see the largest Inca cemetery and the Intihuatana de Pisac.
Once finished, we will drive for another hour to Urubamba and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch of traditional Peruvian dishes. There will be a wide range of options available and it is the perfect opportunity to sample many foods.
In the afternoon, we will visit the town of Ollantaytambo to tour its unique and extensive archaeological site that houses water sources, high terraces, temples, and more. The site is surrounded by towering mountain peaks and colorful valleys (plus a view of a distant glacier)!
This town is the best preserved layout of a typical city built by the Incas with its narrow, cobbled streets and stone walls. It is the only original Inca town where people still live to this day. Its conservation allows the enduring legacy of the Inca people to endure and allows us to better understand the ancient culture.
On our way back to Cusco, we will make one last stop in the town of Chinchero. Here you will have the opportunity to visit a beautiful colonial temple, best known for its mural painting above the entrance (this temple was built on Inca foundations). We will also see the Inca walls in the main square.
The highlight of this town is watching the local women making textiles. They will teach you the process and you will have the opportunity to support them by buying their handmade pieces if you wish. Finally, we will continue to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
The night before your trip to Sacred Valley tour, information meetings are held at your hotel at 6 pm with your trekking guide. And if you cannot attend at this time, you must arrange to do it at another time.
During the briefing, you will receive your duffel bag for your belongings that you intend to take on the hike, which will not be in your backpack.
These informational meetings last approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

Cusco is a very old city, therefore it has many narrow and cobbled streets. Some hotels and Airbnb may be located on streets with no car access or on long, steep slopes, making it difficult to carry luggage. We strongly recommend that you book an accommodation with good access.
We recommend drinking plenty of water and drinking coca tea that can be ordered wherever you want, it can also be prepared with boiled water and dried coca leaves. At least one day before the Sacred Valley in 1 day, we recommend you eat light foods and if you have any medication prescribed by your doctor you can take it and the best thing you can do is keep in mind that you will be fine.
Group tours are made up of different types of people. Physical conditions and ages can vary. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you also agree that some people may be faster or slower than you. Therefore, everyone can go at their own pace on the route. It may be the case that a group wants to modify the route; however, it will be the guide who decides, after consulting with all the participants, if such modifications can be made.
Of course! During the trip, your main luggage can be stored in our office (you can coordinate during the day of the briefing or by email) or at your hotel, both for free.
Any equipment you don’t need on the trek can be safely stored at your hotel. Almost all hotels will offer this service. Do not leave valuables with your bags, put them in the hotel safe and get an itemized receipt (in the unlikely event of theft, many insurance companies require you to have a copy of the receipt with all items). It’s best to put items like credit cards in a sealed and signed envelope for added peace of mind.
Strikes and demonstrations are often frequent in Peru, and this can interrupt some of our planned tours. They can block the roads and take control of the railroad tracks. However, we will try to keep your tour as planned, even if it means leaving the night before your scheduled date. In these circumstances, tours can also be canceled. In case of changes or cancellations, all situations will be coordinated with you by our operations department. Your safety is our top priority and decisions will be made appropriately.
You are responsible for your personal belongings during the Sacred Valley in 1 day. Please pay attention to where you leave your belongings and remember to take everything once you leave your bus, tents, and restaurants.
Here are some other options that will suit your needs
We are very lucky to have found peru trek company and we loved spending the day with our guide. He is very knowledgeable and a great guide. He took us through the Sacred Valley in a private vehicle for over 9 hours, along with a driver. It was a great experience and it was planned extremely well and the driver was able to pick us up and drop us off in front of the sites to maximize time. Algel mentioned that he worked backwards from typical Sacred Valley tours to avoid the crowds. It was difficult to find a tour guide leaving from Urubamba, but hiring a private guide allowed us to go at our own speed and customize our tour. My husband and I are vegetarians and he found a great place for all of us to take a break and have lunch. Overall 5 stars and would absolutely recommend.
We had a fantastic day with Angel. He was very knowledgeable and great at communicating history and was great company. He knew everything about the historical sites we visited and he took some beautiful photos of us to remember the day. We had lunch with Llamas as an added bonus. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you, PERU TREK!
This guided tour exceeded my expectations! The sites we visited were not only beautiful beyond what I imagined looking at the photos, but Juan made every moment memorable. He was passionate about educating us about the history of the Incas and he was very knowledgeable. He was also a great photographer and we got so many priceless photos that my family will always treasure! I recommend the team of the PERU TREK company.
