A little further on, you will see the camps where those who make the Classic Inca Trail spend the night. Here you will have time to enjoy the tasty lunchbox that we have prepared for you, relax and recharge your batteries.

However, we will not enter the citadel yet. You can look to tomorrow, knowing you’ll be exploring every inch of this masterpiece. Cusco is a very old city, therefore it has many narrow and cobbled streets. Some hotels and Airbnb may be located on streets with no car access or on long, steep slopes, making it difficult to carry luggage. We strongly recommend that you book an accommodation with good access.
The Inca Trail is the best trek to follow the ancient steps to the magical and mystical Machu Picchu. Little time? No problem! We can work with you and your schedule to ensure an amazing experience in a shorter period of time.
Witness ancient constructions, lush landscapes, and incredible wildlife on this 2-day adventure through the Andean rainforest. Spend the night in charming Aguas Calientes before rising early to beat the crowds at the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. This is one adventure you don’t want to miss, and you don’t have to with our compact and fast Inca Trail.
Group tours are made up of different types of people. Physical conditions and ages can vary. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you also agree that some people may be faster or slower than you. Therefore, everyone can go at their own pace on the route. It may be the case that a group wants to modify the route; however, it will be the guide who decides, after consulting with all the participants, if such modifications can be made.
It is very important to be well acclimatized to the altitude before exerting yourself on a hike. We recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least 2 or 3 days before the trek begins to help you acclimatize and avoid possible problems with altitude sickness during the trek.
Suppose you have already been to another area of Peru at a high altitude before arriving in Cusco. In that case, we still recommend that you have a full day in Cusco to rest, recover from your trip and fully enjoy your trek and have a unique experience.
Of course! During the trip, your main luggage can be stored in our office (you can coordinate during the day of the briefing or by email) or at your hotel, both for free.
Any equipment you don’t need on the trek can be safely stored at your hotel. Almost all hotels will offer this service. Do not leave valuables with your bags, put them in the hotel safe and get an itemized receipt (in the unlikely event of theft, many insurance companies require you to have a copy of the receipt with all items). It’s best to put items like credit cards in a sealed and signed envelope for added peace of mind.
Strikes and demonstrations are often frequent in Peru, and this can interrupt some of our planned tours. They can block the roads and take control of the railroad tracks. However, we will try to keep your tour as planned, even if it means leaving the night before your scheduled date. In these circumstances, tours can also be canceled. In case of changes or cancellations, all situations will be coordinated with you by our operations department. Your safety is our top priority and decisions will be made appropriately.
You are responsible for your personal belongings during the Inca Trail 2 Days. Please pay attention to where you leave your belongings and remember to take everything once you leave your bus, tents, and restaurants.
Here are some other options that will suit your needs
Peru Trek was exceptional from start to finish. Cecilio provided us with so much information from the initial enquiry stage to the start of the trek, so thank you for all your help and advice.
We had the most amazing and unforgettable trek to Machu Picchu with Julio. He was an absolute pleasure to be with and he had the patience of a saint with my family. Nothing was too much trouble for him, his knowledge of the area, nature and wildlife was phenomenal and also his photography skills are something else. I can safely say that I would recommend this company to anyone considering trekking in Peru.
We had a great time with Julio. He calculated our walking pace well and when we needed to rest. It was great to be shown around Machu Picchu in a relaxed way (unlike other guides who are in a hurry) and also to be shown around by someone who was interested in how the Incas lived and what they might have believed. Also the organization of the Peru Trek company was excellent.
This was a truly magical trip – full of wonders in sights and sounds and tastes -an experience to be relived over and over in our memories. What made it extraordinary was our Peru Trek guide- Christian He treated us like family and our one-on-one time With him over the 2 days was full of interesting conversations and unique insights into this place. He was genuine, respectful and passionate about his job and the Inca traditions and history We were truly mesmerized by the beauty of our surroundings and the importance of being part of a trek to such a historic and archeologically significant site. Thank you for a truly magnificent trek – absolutely the best 2 days ever!!!!
Our 2-day Inca trek to Machu Picchu was absolutely fantastic! The trip started with the train ride from Ollantaytambo followed by a manageable hike up to Machu Picchu. Our guide Juan was excellent and shared fascinating information about the Inca culture, history and landscape.
The second day focused on Machu Picchu and although we were unlucky with the weather that day, Juan made the experience even more special with detailed stories.
We did the 2 day 1 night trek to Machu Picchu starting at km 104 with Cecilio as our guide. Cecilio was fantastic and made sure we had the best experience with his relaxed attitude, knowledge of the area and Inca history. The hotel they arranged for us in Aguas Calientes was very comfortable and the packed lunch for the trek was delicious. On our second day, we added the hike to the top of Huayna Picchu.
Overall, it was well worth it. Thank you Peru Trek! We highly recommend them!
